Manchester Supporting People Provider Training Programme

The next round of Supporting People Provider Training will commence from April 2010.

We will inform providers nearer the time of the actual training programme, however if you would like to discuss any particular point concerning training, please do not hesitate to contact Riz Hussain.

Charging for Non Attendance

Although all provider training is free, if individuals who have received confirmation of their place on a course fail to attend, or send a suitable replacement in their place, a charge of £25 will be made.  Where a charge for non-attendance is applicable an invoice will be sent to the service manager of the individual concerned.

Service User Consultation and Involvement

The ODPM National Training Package on Service User Involvement was produced by Manchester's Supporting People Team, and was made by people who use supported housing services in the city.  The package is aimed not just at those who work in the sector, but also those who receive support.  Training was held in August 2005 to introduce the CLG National Training Package on Service User Involvement. This event was held to share the training package, explain the Manchester view, raise awareness of consultation and involvement, and share best practice models of practice.
You can download trainers' notes for the video "Whose life is it anyway?" (pdf) from the National Training Package.
