What is Supporting People?

The Supporting People programme offers vulnerable people the opportunity to improve their quality of life by providing a stable environment which enables greater independence.

Supporting People delivers high quality and strategically planned housing-related services which are cost effective and reliable, and complement existing care services. The planning and development of services are needs led. Supporting People is a working partnership of local government, service users and support agencies.

Manchester City Council's Supporting People programme was awarded 3 stars for an excellent service with excellent prospects for improvement following inspection by the Audit Commission in August 2004

 

Manchester Supporting People Hardship Fund 2009/10

Applications are now being considered to the Manchester's Supporting People Hardship Fund for 2009/10.  The closing date for applications is 31 August 2009.  Providers are advised to apply early as there is only a limited amount of money available.  For further information on the Hardship Fund please click here
